    They won numerous prizes at prestigious national and international competitions, for example in Bordeaux, Bruxelles or Paris resulted by scrupulous professional work. Mihály Figula was recognized for his achievements as the 'Winemaker of the Year' in 2000, which is the highest title given Hungary. The Figula Family is a member of the Hungarian Wine Academy. The great-grandfather was regarded as one of the most celebrated winemakers of Balatonfüred in the 19th century, so he made the later generations committed .

    As if you entered The Perfect Scene in a film to arrive a Perfect Lordship in the country. Charming little Press-hous is in the middle of their vineyards, Hungarian grey cattle are grazing on the fields, and below the shiny surface of Lake Balaton. As you take the road curving up the hill, you glimpse a house right at the edge of a forest. The Istvándy family has been making wine for 200 years. Gergely represents the youngest generation. Even as a small child, on the weekends he was always involved in the work in and around the vineyard and the wine cellar. ’Istvándy Hárslevelű’ has been included in the selection of premium wines offered to diplomats, exclusive guests of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ’Bizsergés’ (’Prickle’) won first prize in the national competition of young talents in winemaking in 2014.

    Winemaker Ernő Jakab believes in the power of music. Since he has read a book about vibrations written by a Japanese professor, Masaru Emoto PhD, he has been playing classical music for his fermenting wines. Day and night, classical music fills the cellar, having beneficial effect for the crystals in the fluids. His vineyard of a picturesque location offers a breath-taking view of the glimmering surface of Lake Balaton and Tihany Peninsula. Vine-stocks of olaszrizling (Riesling), juhfark (Sheep's tail), chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon grow here. His wines are made according to the traditional winemaking guidelines and methods. Four wines have won silver medals at the International Wine Competition of Vienna. A roasted dinner in a charming outdoor oven and lavender fields around the mansion provide even more unforgettable evening here.

    What is Pálinka? Pálinka manufacturing has been regulated recently by the Act on Pálinka (2008) , which declares, that pálinka can only be distillated from pure fruit grown in Hungary, the fruit content must be 100%, which means that no extra alcohol or other colouring, flavouring or sweetenings are added, and the alcohol content is minimum 40 % and up. (50-60 % ) About best way of consuming: In the flavour of a good pálinka anyone can always identify the taste of the fruit it was made of, without doubt. Pálinka is best consumed at 18-20 °C because the fine taste of the fruits can be best enjoyed at this temperature, especially if served in a tulip-shaped glass (wide at the bottom and narrow at the rim), which leads the smell to the nose. Slowly sipping and tasting it brings real pleasure! The climate of Hungary is especially favourable for growing fruit like apricot, plums, cherries, sour-cherry, strawberries, rapsberry , grapes and pears which are the most popular types of Palinka.     Last, but not least about the most famous Hungarian wine : This is the world-famous naturally sweet, topaz-colored dessert wine known throughout the English-speaking world as Tokay.
 Tokaji has got a renown: Vinum Regum Rex Vinorum (The Wine of Kings, the King of Wines ) The Tokaji Aszú made from grapes affected by noble rot, harvested in November, December or January, contain a mixture of furmint, honey, nut, yeasty bread crust, yellow melon, apricots and peach aromas with a very long aftertaste. It is not a liquer wine as many imagine and is not a fortified wine, such as Port, Marsala or Madeira wines. On the contrary, Aszú is a naturally sweet wine. Tokaji is the name of the wines from the region of Tokaj-Hegyalja in North-East Hungary.
